The PC edition of Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast is a hybrid first-person and third-person shooter and action game developed by Raven Software with the id Tech 3 engine and published by LucasArts in 2002. It is the fourth game released in the Star Wars Jedi Knight series, followed by Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. This game was eventually ported to the Nintendo GameCube and Microsoft Xbox by Vicarious Visions, and to OS X by Aspyr.
The file provided here is the PC demo for the game, which was initially downloadable from
http://www.lucasarts.com/products/outcast/html/demo.html. The demo is an original level that does not appear in the full game, and was released on May 10, 2002. It showcases the use of various blasters, force powers, and lightsaber combat against Imperial troopers, officers, droids, and one or more lightsaber-wielding foes, depending on the selected difficulty. All assets, most notably the snippets of overheard dialogue, are repurposed from the full game. In the GameCube and Xbox versions of Jedi Outcast, this same demo level can be played by typing "DEMO" in the cheat screen.
In the demo's story, Jedi Master Kyle Katarn and pilot and saboteur Jan Ors are directed by Alliance leader Mon Mothma to investigate an Imperial outpost on Alzoc III.
